A day in Utah county

We planned out a day to go to Utah County for the day, we started out by going to the Payson Temple open house, finally Lil Man got to go inside a temple and he was very excited about it! After that we went to visit our dear friend Lia and family, including the newest addition baby J. Chriss has known Lia and family for 15 years. Then we visited with Papa Jevtic, a special friend form Chriss' time as a missionary in Austria, she hadn't seen in 15 years! It was so good to see him and hear about his life in Vienna. All in all a long day, but a good one.

Commissioning

The main event, the main reason we made a trip to Utah this time was for Chriss' brother to be commissioned an Officer of the Army. We're so glad that he invited us to be there, it was great to see him in his dress uniform, to see the traditions of the armed forces who defend our freedoms and support him on his chosen path in the Army. Lil Man was also a huge fan of the dress uniforms, he was transfixed with them up on the stage. He turned to us and told us he wanted to join the Army, we told him that he has a few years before making that decision. One thing is for sure, we are very proud of Uncle Neil and support him with his decision.

I love to see the Temple, I'm going there someday...

Payson Temple

We wanted Lil Man to see as many temples as possible, since there are so many in Utah we tried to take every opportunity to go to the different temples. We even got a chance to go to the Payson Temple open house, so that Lil Man could go inside too. When we go back we'll catch the ones we missed this time.

Love our time with family!

We tried to cram so much into this trip to Utah, so many family and friends that we hadn't seen for a long time. We are blessed to have so many great people in our lives.

A little trip to Utah

In May we made a trip to Utah for Chriss' brother's graduation and being commissioned an officer in the Army! We decided to try driving through the night, we left Brian's work around 2 pm and stopped for dinner with Great-Great Aunt Afton. She wanted to head to Burger King (she had coupons), so Burger King it was. When we left La Grande, we put Lil Man in pj's and turned his seat around rear facing thereby more reclined and easier to sleep (we hoped) Lil Man fell asleep and slept really well for the most part. Meanwhile we started our book on cd, we love listening to books when we make roadtrips and discussing them. This trip we listened to the first two books of the Divergent series, we both enjoyed them.
