Fun Fact Friday #7

Brian and his bread maker are great friends. He loves to make all kinds of breads. Some of his favorites are french bread, orange cranberry, cinnamon  raisin, and honey wheat.

Brian makes bread almost every Sunday, he sets it so that we wake up to fresh baked bread in the morning. We went through a time where Brian would start it before church and when we came home, the house smelled delicious and we would have a yummy treat waiting for us.

5 is a great number

Today we have been married for five years. It has been a great time so far, what a journey we have started. There have had fun road trips
Brian and my brother Neil, with the laptop trying to figure out where we are going  in  California
great times together with family and friends,
finishing school for Chriss and almost there for Brian's Masters degree
Chriss' graduation with her Bachelors in 2008
Brian's graduation with his Bachelors in 2011
multiple visits to the hospital in 2011, camping at Snow Canyon, jumping in rain puddles during rain storms, our first house together, infertility and multiple miscarriages, finding new and interesting places to eat, being in nursery together and now with our dear sunbeams, unemployment and being laid off two times in two years, ATV'ing, bonfires, motorcycle rides, trips to the ocean, weekly date nights, and going through school.
you make me a better person, my life would be void without you there. I miss you like crazy when you are out of town, on the few times that has happened. words fail how much you mean to me. you are the first person I want to see in the morning and the last I want to see before going to sleep. you have been my rock through our challenges in infertility. I love that you will do anything to make me happy, like dress in drag and do the hula.

You are the cheese to my macaroni.

Fun Fact Friday #6

Chriss has a collection of post cards.

it started long ago, actually I don't remember when it started. I know that I collected them before my mission and have some great postcards that people brought back for me when they went on vacations. Some of my favorites are the ones that people mail to me from other countries. I have some from India, Italy, Germany,Austria, Hawaii and Canada that have been mailed. I love all of my postcards. In college I used my postcards as a type of wallpaper. Since I wasn't able to paint or to put more than 2 or 3 holes in a wall I covered them with postcards of beautiful or unique places.  They are also special because each one was given by someone I care about and there is usually a story that goes with each one.

Like the one from India. A friend of mine was going on a humanitarian trip there for three weeks. When she came back she told me all about the food, the culture and how much need there is. Fun adventures that she had with riding elephants and figuring out the variety of toilet systems. Or the ones that I have from Walnut Creek California, a friend had driven home and picked up cards from his hometown and along the way. He thought it odd that I wanted a postcard from Winnemucca  Nevada but he brought me a few of those too. Now my Father-in-Law aka Pops brings me back postcards when he travels for work.

And that is Fun Fact #6 for you this week

Fun Fact Friday #5

Brian has a request for all pants that he wears. The pockets must be large enough for a computer hard drive to fit in the front pockets.  This was a huge challenge when I was first learning to shop for his pants, as I didn't know what kind of size that should be. Let's be honest, I had never even seen a hard drive or the inside of a computer before meeting Brian.

After many trial and error situations, we found a method that works and I have learned how to better gauge the size of front pockets in pants. Skills in life that I never knew I was going to need, but ones that I appreciate I have learned. Brian asks me how I can manage with such small pockets, when I remind him that in my pockets are keys and my phone he shakes his head in disbelief.

Even now he is showing me how useful his pocket size is. He is pulling out three sets of keys, a pocket leatherman, and a couple of thumbdrives.
