B -- Brian

Brian

I am a complete nerd; I am into computers movies and cars. I love to work on the intricate little things that get broken on the cars or the computers. I enjoy fixing them and making them go faster. It doesn't matter whether it is a car or a computer it must go faster. I am a major movie buff I like all kinds of films from action war movies to sappy love stories. I have a game that I play with my sister I will send her a line from a movie and she has to respond with a different line from the same movie. We can play this game for hours at a time I almost never loose.

About Brian (by Brian)

I love working with computers and I am always helping those around me with theirs. I also love cars, I love working on them and driving them or going to the demolition derby. I enjoy taking long drives or going for Sunday drives through the canyons.

I want to tell you why I am so excited about adoption. I have always felt in my heart that some (if not all) of my children would be adopted. When we were dating, Chriss asked me how I felt about adopting. I told her how I always planned on adopting. I have five adopted cousins and four adopted second cousins that come from various backgrounds and ethnicities. We see them often and it’s a lot of fun to play around with them. Adoption is very normal and accepted in my family.

We have had trouble with staying pregnant over the last two years, and this has been devastating. But at the same time, our trial has brought us closer to each other and the Lord. I am so excited to bring a little child into our lives and can't wait to be a father! I love playing with kids. I love the way their minds work and love watching them learn new things.

About Brian (by Chriss)

My wonderful husband Brian blesses me with so much happiness and joy. I love his enthusiasm for life and adventures. He has so much compassion for other people and animals. Most of all he makes me laugh. My love is a “fixer” of things—cars, computers, anything electronic—and he’s always designing or building something. He has such a large heart and a deep love of all things family related. We love spending time together as a family.

Brian is a great cook and has great skill at coming up with culinary masterpieces. Some of his favorite things to make are stir fry, Navajo tacos, rice and beans (this is never the same way twice) he loves to make bread too. On Sunday's he chooses which bread he wants to make and then sets the bread machine to have fresh and hot bread for as soon as we get home from church.

I have loved watching Brian as a father and his relationship with Little Man. He loves playing with Little Man, they enjoy reading together and rough housing. Little Man absolutely adores Brian and comes running when Brian gets home from work. He loves to have one-on-one time whenever he can. Brian is so great with Little Man and my love for him has grown watching him being a daddy.
Reading is important to us, starting as a baby

C -- Chriss

About Chriss (by Chriss)

I love to travel, really to anywhere, and as often as I can. I plan trips to warm places during the winter. Our most recent trips have been to Oregon and California. Someday, I would like to go to Hawaii, the Maldives and India. I love to read all kinds of books, I love "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and "The Wheel of Time" series; I have read all 14 books. I also like "The Fault in Our Stars", "The 100 Foot Journey", "Wild", "The Night Circus", "Vanity Fair" and the "Harry Potter" series. I can not forget the "Twilight" series, which I like and enjoy reading (even got Brian to listen to them on mp3) I was a fan before the movies, it has been fun to visit "vampire country" being only about four hours from Forks.
I love photography! I enjoy taking pictures of everything from friends’ kids to fireworks and landscapes—it brings me such joy. I am however camera shy when it's my turn in front of the camera.  I am learning how to turn the camera over to someone else, and that it can be fun to be on the other side of the camera too.

Tying a quilt for a friend with her little boy,
It was a little hard with him on my lap but
still fun

Another thing that I do is sewing, making quilts, cross stitching and crafts of just about any kind. I have all kinds of craft blogs that I follow. I can spend hours at a craft show or fabric store, book store or planning trips. I would love to make you a quilt or a cross-stitch of Christ!
On the left is a cross-stitch I did for a friend. On the right is the one in our home, most of the time people
do not even think that it is cross-stitch
I have recently gotten into cake decorating as well, its so much fun to play with different styles. I made some food art turkeys for Thanksgiving, but our journey to California was not easy on them and I had to re-assemble them, we called them the "zombie turkeys". They really did look better before the redo, but when it came down to it they tasted good and were fun to make too.

I spent 10 months on this bike

I loved the fields and fields of sunflowers
I had the chance to serve a mission in Austria, Vienna. It was wonderful, hard work and has been a large part of my life since my time in the mission field. There is such a special place in my heart for Austrians and other missionaries that I spent time with there. We celebrate Advent in December and I only sing "Silent Night" on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day just as the Austrians do. I have worked hard to keep my German language skills up, it has been challenging because there are not many German speakers in the area but I love the language and practice as often as possible.

Adoption has always been something that I wanted to do. I love kids and have always wanted to be a mommy, I've been incredibly blessed to be Isaac's mommy and look forward to adding another child to our family.

About Chriss (by Brian)

My dear wife, Chriss, is wonderful at planning things out. For a road trip to Arizona, she packed things we needed in the car from snacks to a couple of books on CD. We had such a great time during the drive. A few year she was able to pull off a complete surprise birthday party for me. Family and friends filled my parents’ house. I was caught completely off guard and was touched that she would do that for me.

Chriss is excellent at prioritizing things. She is very good at making sure to put others’ needs and wants ahead of hers. She will drop anything that she is doing to take care of whatever anyone else needs, like when I am sick. She has so much love for those close to her. She is a great listener that laughs at my silly jokes.
adventures to the San Juan Islands

love the trails
Chriss is a wonderful mother. I love watching her raise Isaac. She is tender and loving with him. Chriss loves to read to Isaac. She does lots of little things to show me that she loves me; one of the little things that she did for me was get me a box of pop tarts for father’s day this is a play on words because I call my father Pops. She loves to travel, see and experience new things.

D -- Dinner time

We love to have dinner together as a family, right now that is the two of us. We both feel very strongly about family dinner time, there are no cell phones, T.V., movies, internet or other distractions. There are many benifits about having family dinner time. Some of the benefits are listed here and here
