And we are off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz

Today we turned in another portion of the paperwork needed, and did the non-refundable deposit. In a way it feels like we are starting at the beginning of the yellow brick road from the Wizard of Oz. I was feeling that and was going to write this post with the reference to the Wizard of Oz, when I pulled up the Google home page it had this picture:
Today is the 71st anniversary of the release of the film The Wizard of Oz!
Both of us have loved this movie and the books as well, it seems like a fitting beginning to our paperwork/homestudy journey. It seems especially fitting since Dorthy was adopted.

things are rolling along now...

We have our intake interview tomorrow with the agency and it will be a chance to get some of the answers we are looking for and to continue moving forward. It feels so great to make progress in the journey, a little nervous but excited at the same time all wrapped up . We still have so far to go but we are taking small steps forward.

This weekend we were at a family reunion surrounded with extended family from all over the country and all ages. The kids loved the snow cones and cotton candy, playing on the playground and the water balloon volleyball. As always there was lots of good southern cooking and stories to be shared.
