Temple Square and train rides

We had been looking forward to taking Lil Man downtown to check out Temple Square, and for him to get to ride the train! He loves all things relating to trains, this was a great chance to go for a ride.

A day in Logan

When we began our journey in adoption, we were living in Logan, Utah. We met in Logan, dated in Logan, lived in Logan for the first 5 years of our marriage and we try and get back each time we come to Utah. Sometimes we are successful, this was one of those times. We also were able to meet up with some of our dear friends at a park, most of these friends were in the same stages of adoption as we were and we supported each other through the process and became parents within the same year! It is a special time to be able to see our kids play together, the ones that we hoped for and dreamed for together, most of us are also trying to adopt again so that our little ones will have siblings.

Lil Man thought it was the best castle to play on

It also had a fun pirate ship

And a train!

So great to see dear friends!!!

Another mandatory stop is to our favorite Indian restaurant

We were sitting in the booth under this picture, when we decided to move on to adoption

We stopped to see the Logan Temple

We stopped to get some squeeky cheese and shelf milk for food storage

stopping to see an old mission friend and catch up

A day in Utah county

We planned out a day to go to Utah County for the day, we started out by going to the Payson Temple open house, finally Lil Man got to go inside a temple and he was very excited about it! After that we went to visit our dear friend Lia and family, including the newest addition baby J. Chriss has known Lia and family for 15 years. Then we visited with Papa Jevtic, a special friend form Chriss' time as a missionary in Austria, she hadn't seen in 15 years! It was so good to see him and hear about his life in Vienna. All in all a long day, but a good one.

The main event, the main reason we made a trip to Utah this time was for Chriss' brother to be commissioned an Officer of the Army. We're so glad that he invited us to be there, it was great to see him in his dress uniform, to see the traditions of the armed forces who defend our freedoms and support him on his chosen path in the Army. Lil Man was also a huge fan of the dress uniforms, he was transfixed with them up on the stage. He turned to us and told us he wanted to join the Army, we told him that he has a few years before making that decision. One thing is for sure, we are very proud of Uncle Neil and support him with his decision.
